The Indian Government has banned PUBG and other lots of Chinese apps or who have been linked with China. It is a whopping 118 apps that Indians no longer have access to.

The banned apps include Baidu, Baidu Express Edition, Tencent Watchlist, FaceU, WeChat Reading, and Tencent Weiyun, besides PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite, the statement read. According to some reports, there are nearly 33 million active PUBG players in India, making it one of the most popular apps downloaded in the country. PUBG reportedly clocks 13 million users per day.

This move by the Indian Government is as a result of the escalation of the border tension between the Indian and the Chinese Governments. These two have been fighting over a border in the North of India or more than 70 years ago.

The Ministry of Information and Technology in India has said that they had received complaints that these apps steal their people’s data when they use and that these data are being transferred to data centers located outside India.
They said it poses a threat to them if these data should get into the hands of the People’s Republic of China as they are known to be the first pioneer of 5G and Artificial Intelligence.
